Battle of Fredricksburg

Union brigadier general Herman Haupt, on the left, and his assistant, William Wright, survey a wrecked caisson and dead horses, left behind by a 32 pound shell from the guns of the 2nd Massachusetts heavy artillery division at Marye's Heights at the Battle of Fredericksburg.
