George Washington Statue
This is the Horatio Greenough statue of George Washington situated in the park grounds opposite the east front of the capitol during the Civil War. The boy in front was Mathew Brady's nephew, Levin C. Handy, who was learning the photographic business in Brady's Washington studio.
